Bio & Description

Who is Central Plains: We are and Indie rock band from NYC. This has been a passion project for Nik Westman since 2006. Over the years we’ve recorded 4 albums, 2 EP’s and some singles. We did some minor touring after our 2nd LP “walk on beaches” with Americana band Boca Chica from Pittsburgh. Played lots of shows in the Pittsburgh area and NYC venues such as Knitting Factory, the Bitter End, Pianos, Arlene’s Grocery, Main Drag music and many more. We’ve shared stages with Artists like Leon Russell, The Dig, Wye Oak and hundreds of other bands.

Central Plains live shows have been described as having a chill, yet  energetic indie sound. The band was founded in 2006 and has had a rotating cast of members over the years. The current members (as of 2022) are: Nik Westman, singer/songwriter, Paul Orbell on lead guitar, Sean Wiggins on bass, and Chris Weaber on drums.
